A habit tracker with streak freeze

HabitBlooms includes a streak freeze: when you miss a day, you can spend a freeze to keep the streak intact instead of starting over at zero. You get one freeze per week per habit, frozen days are marked in icy blue on the calendar, and the streak continues counting the next time you check in.

How it works

  1. 1. The habit card warns you first. When a scheduled day is nearly over and the habit is still open, the card shows an "at risk" state so you can either do it or protect it.
  2. 2. You apply a freeze. One freeze per habit per calendar week. Using it marks the day as protected rather than completed — the tracker stays honest about what you actually did.
  3. 3. The streak carries over. Frozen days bridge the gap in streak calculation, so a 26-day streak stays a 26-day streak instead of dropping to 1.

Why a freeze beats a reset

The most common point people abandon a habit tracker is the day after they break a long streak — the number resets, the progress feels erased, and the app stops being worth opening. A freeze keeps the record accurate (the day still isn't marked complete) while removing the all-or-nothing cliff that makes people quit. Missed days without a freeze aren't punished with red either; they're shown in a muted style so the calendar reads as history, not judgement.
